Privacy Policy for Clean Kit

Clean Kit is an iOS photo-library utility that helps users inspect and organize photos and videos stored through Apple Photos. This Privacy Policy explains the difference between information the App accesses locally to perform a requested function and information that may actually be received by us.

Clean Kit is designed so that its core media-review functions take place on your device. Permission to view your Photos library does not, by itself, send your library to us.

1. Privacy Design in Brief

Clean Kit follows these operating principles:

This Policy applies to the Clean Kit iOS application and to messages you voluntarily send us about the App. Apple services and external resources are governed by their own privacy terms.

2. When Photos Permission Is Used

Clean Kit asks for access to Apple Photos when you start a function that needs media-library information. Depending on the permission choices offered by your iOS version, you may allow access to selected items or to a broader portion of the library.

The App may inspect media content and Photos framework information to perform functions such as:

If you refuse or narrow Photos access, Clean Kit can continue to operate only for items and functions that remain available under that permission.

3. Information and Results Kept on the Device

While a cleaning session is running, Clean Kit may read characteristics supplied by Apple Photos, including media type, dimensions, duration, creation details, file-size information, and local asset references. The App may produce temporary thumbnails, duplicate sets, similarity groupings, review selections, compression outputs, and space estimates.

These materials and results are used within the App on your device. We do not create a server-side catalog of your Photos library, a remote record of every file examined, or an online history of which memories you kept or removed.

Local preferences, temporary processing information, and unfinished review state may remain in the App's local storage so that the relevant feature can function. They are controlled through the App and iOS and are generally removed when the relevant data is cleared or the App is uninstalled, subject to Apple device-backup and operating-system behavior.

4. Media and Device Information We Do Not Intend to Collect

Clean Kit does not upload photos or videos to our servers for duplicate detection, similarity review, grouping, storage calculation, compression, or deletion preparation. We do not use the contents of your Photos library to train a generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model.

The App does not require you to create a Clean Kit account and does not operate a separate media-sync or cloud-storage service. It is not designed to collect your contacts, messages, email inbox, call history, precise location, health information, browsing history, passwords, list of installed applications, or activity in unrelated apps and websites.

5. Information That May Reach Us

The local processing described above is separate from these limited situations:

Support requests. If you contact us, we receive the sender address, message text, and any screenshots, files, purchase details, or device information you choose to provide. Avoid including private media or sensitive information that is not needed to resolve your request.

Apple diagnostics. When your Apple privacy settings permit diagnostics to be shared with developers, Apple may make crash, performance, operating-system, device-model, App-version, and related technical information available to us. This sharing is controlled through Apple settings. Diagnostic reports are used to understand technical failures and are not intended to contain your photo or video files.

6. Purposes and Grounds for Processing

We use information that reaches us only as reasonably necessary to:

Depending on the law that applies, these activities may be based on performing our agreement with you, your request or consent, compliance with a legal obligation, or a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights. You may withdraw a permission or consent through the available device or communication controls, although withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing invalid.

We do not repurpose local photo analysis, support communications, transaction information, or Apple diagnostics for behaviorally targeted advertising, data-broker activity, or generalized model training.

7. Retention and Deletion

Information kept only inside Clean Kit remains subject to the storage controls of your device. Removing the App normally removes its local application data, but it does not necessarily remove photos, compressed copies, iCloud-synchronized media, Apple transaction records, device backups, or items managed by Apple Photos.

Support correspondence is kept for the time reasonably needed to answer the request, preserve necessary service history, resolve a dispute, or meet legal requirements. Transaction or entitlement records available to us may be retained for purchase support, accounting, fraud prevention, and compliance. Optional diagnostic material is retained only while it remains useful for troubleshooting, security, or reliability analysis. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed, unless continued retention is required or permitted by law.

8. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You can manage Clean Kit's access to Photos in iOS settings. Where iOS permits limited-library access, you can change which items are available. You can also control Apple's sharing of developer analytics and manage subscriptions through your Apple Account. Uninstalling Clean Kit does not cancel an active subscription.

Deletion requests sent to us can apply only to information we hold. Because local media and scan results are not held on our servers, we generally cannot locate, return, change, or erase those device-only materials for you. Use Clean Kit, Apple Photos, iOS settings, Recently Deleted, and your Apple Account to manage them.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal information held by us. You may also be entitled to object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority. We may request reasonable verification before acting on a privacy request and may decline or limit a request where applicable law allows.

9. Security and Media-Safety Considerations

We apply reasonable organizational and technical measures to the limited information we receive. No storage or communication system is completely immune from loss, interception, or unauthorized access, so absolute security cannot be promised.

Protect your device with appropriate Apple security settings and maintain backups of media you consider important. Clean Kit is not a recovery service. Deleting an item may place it in Apple's Recently Deleted album temporarily, and iCloud Photos may synchronize the change to connected devices. Compression can reduce quality or alter file characteristics. Review each selection and any compressed result before removing an original.

10. Policy Revisions and Contact

We may revise this Policy when Clean Kit's functions, service arrangements, or legal obligations change. The version available within the App or at the published policy location is the current version. You should review it periodically because continued use of the App is subject to the privacy terms then presented, to the extent permitted by law.
